DNA test - Cobalamin Malabsorption

This clinical condition occurs because cobalamin (Vitamin B12) is not absorbed properly in the small intestine and is the result of a single recessive mutation. Initial signs of intestinal cobalamin malabsorption appear early in a dog’s life and include a loss of appetite and lethargy. Puppies with this disorder will fail to grow normally. Anaemia is also a result of this condition and this will cause affected puppies to become weak with a decreased ability to exercise.
